As we approach our 25th anniversary season of convergence-continuum Our mission to produce alternative/experimental theatre work by living playwrights and new plays by local playwrights. The company seeks to create up-close, environmentally-staged productions that challenge the status quo and extend the boundaries of theatre. is more critical than ever, and we strive to create an efficient, and stable space for all who enjoy our work, whether it be artists or audience members, to continue to enjoy it for years to come.

Unfortunately, the very structure that allows us to fulfill this mission is in dire need of repair. The roof of The Liminis, convergence-continuum’s artistic home since 2001 has reached the end of its lifespan. We are facing significant issues including leaks, critter intrusions and damage to our costume, prop and scenic storage. These issues are not only a major distraction from producing the shows you love to see but also pose a threat to the financial and physical stability of our operations.

Replacing the roof is not just a cosmetic upgrade; it is a critical investment in the future of convergence-continuum and the well-being of our actors, designers, and audiences. A new, sturdy roof will provide:

• Safety and Security: Protecting our props, costumes and actors from the elements and ensuring a safe environment.
• Longevity: Extending the life of our building for decades to come, allowing us to continue our vital work.
• Efficiency: Improving insulation, reducing energy consumption, and freeing up resources for our programs.
• Peace of Mind: Allowing us to focus entirely on our mission without the constant worry of water damage or structural issues.

The estimated cost for this essential project is $60,000. While this is a significant undertaking, we believe that with the support of our generous community, we can achieve this goal. Through generous donations, we have already raised over half of the required funds for this project.

Ticket sales and grants cover less than 60% of the cost of presenting a season at convergence-continuum. Its donations from individual patrons like you that play a huge part in allowing us to continue to present the uniquely up close and personal experiences of the kind of plays you wont see anywhere else in town. 

Through fundraising we can not only support our season, but we can also continue to preserve the historic building that has been our artistic home since 2000. As the second oldest building in Tremont, it has seen a lot of development in the n the past 150 years. Through fundraising we are working to complete the following projects:

• Patron Bathroom renovations
• Costume loft renovation
• Creation of a year-round rehearsal hall for our productions and play readings
